Direct your questions about this blog to the SA Blog moderators. Moderators may revoke the membership of any poster who intentionally violates the spirit of this site.
We reserve the right to remove any comment or user from our blogs — although we have no duty to do so. When comments are deleted, it’s usually because they violate one or more of our house rules. Repeated violation of these rules may result in the suspension of your commenting privileges. Trolls and cyberstalkers will not be tolerated.
There are some rules on the type of content that can be hosted with IEEE-SA’s ProductNEXT blog and forum. The boundaries we've defined are those that both comply with legal requirements and that serve to enhance the service as a whole. Please respect these guidelines. From time to time, we may change our content policies so please check back here.
Specific Rules:
The IEEE-SA ProductNEXT blog and forum are free services for communication and freedom of speech. We believe this encourages the exchange of ideas and new connections between people. We respect our users' ownership of and responsibility for the content they choose to share. However, there are some rules to adhere to, including:
1. We don’t allow obscene, racist or sexually explicit language.
2. Personal attacks are not permitted.
3. We reserve the right to remove comments that are abusive, hateful, or defame or insult anyone.
4. We also reserve the right to remove comments that are off-topic or not in English.
5. It is illegal to harass or threaten anyone. We take threats, harassment and stalking very seriously. Comments that might be construed as such may be deleted and made available to the proper law enforcement officials.
6. No solicitations or advertisements are allowed. This includes advertisements for your business and your own online endeavors.
7. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. More information about our copyright procedures can be found here.
8. You may link to other informational Web sites when relevant to the discussion, but links to commercial sites are generally not allowed. We may make exceptions when the sites in question are pertinent to the ProductNEXT technology discussion at hand.
9. You may not suggest or encourage illegal activity. IEEE-SA will assist law enforcement officials in any investigation of such activities.
10. Choose a username carefully. You may not use names that are offensive, that suggest illegal activities or that are meant to imitate other users. Any such names will be blocked from commenting on our blogs.
11. You must have copyright and intellectual ownership of all material that you post on our blogs. No articles, papers, art or graphics may be posted without the express written consent of the copyright holder. If you’d like to refer to an article from another site, please post no more than a few lines summarizing the article and include a link to it.
12. You must respect the privacy of individuals. This means no posting of phone numbers, addresses, social security numbers or any other private information. We discourage users from posting such information even about themselves, as we cannot control how that information may be used beyond our blogs.
13. Good manners online means that you don’t post the same comment more than once. The online word for posting many times on one topic is “spamming.” We don’t allow it.
14. You participate at your own risk on public blogs, on message boards, in chat rooms and in e-mail. You take responsibility for comments under your username and use the information provided here at your own risk. IEEE-SA is not responsible for the content or opinions posted here.
Please keep these rules in mind as you use our blog and forum. Thanks for participating!
